Edinburgh to Glasgow Improvement Programme (EGIP)

Case Study - The EGIP project included the modernisation and upgrades to key junctions and infrastructure as well as widespread electrification of the Scottish rail network, including the main line between Edinburgh and Glasgow – of approximately 150 single track kilometres of the rail network.

Stirling, Dunblane & Alloa Electrification (SDA)

SDA was part of the Scottish Government’s strategic investment to electrify central Scotland’s railway which encompassed Grangemouth through Falkirk and Stirling to Dunblane and Alloa.

The project involves the electrification of approximately 74 single track kilometres of the rail network in the central belt of Scotland, connecting onto the existing 25kV OLE network at Holytown Junction, in the west and Mid-Calder Junction, in the east. Power modelling has taken place and proposed the optimum HV distribution solution for the scheme.
