The project involves the electrification of approximately 74 single track kilometres of the rail network in the central belt of Scotland, connecting onto the existing 25kV OLE network at Holytown Junction, in the west and Mid-Calder Junction, in the east. Power modelling has taken place and proposed the optimum HV distribution solution for the scheme.
